2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Careerwise, we may collect:

• Account information: email, authentication identifiers, and account settings.
• Billing information: Stripe customer and subscription metadata, payment status, plan interval, and invoice-related IDs.
• Telegram connection data: bot username, bot metadata, allowed Telegram identity, and a secure secret reference for token storage.
• Workspace and coaching data: user-provided career information, CV-related content, chat/workspace files, and memory data required for service delivery.
• Technical/usage data: logs, error events, and security events needed for performance, abuse prevention, and reliability.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to authenticate your account, process subscriptions, provision your workspace, provide support, and improve reliability and security. Specifically, this includes:

• Creating and maintaining your account and session.
• Processing subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, and billing support requests.
• Provisioning and operating your user-specific runtime and workspace.
• Connecting and securing your Telegram bot workflow.
• Responding to support requests and legal/compliance requests.
• Monitoring, debugging, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.

4. Legal Bases (UK/EU Users)

Where UK GDPR/EU GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of these bases:

• Contract: to provide the paid/unpaid services you request.
• Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the service, prevent abuse, and operate support workflows.
• Legal obligation: for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
• Consent: where required (for example, optional analytics/marketing cookies in applicable regions).

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on Careerwise servers. Subscription status and related billing IDs are stored to manage access and subscription lifecycle events.

6. Data Sharing and Processors

We use service providers to operate Careerwise. Depending on your usage, this may include:

• Google Cloud Platform (including Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager, Logging).
• Firebase (authentication and related platform services).
• Stripe (subscription billing and customer portal flows).
• Telegram (message transport and bot interaction layer).
• Namecheap (domain and DNS management).
• Google Analytics and Google Search Console (where enabled for analytics/performance insights).

7. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as contractual protections and provider transfer mechanisms).

8. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for service and compliance purposes. Typical retention approach:

• Account/profile data: while account is active, then as needed for support/legal handling.
• Subscription and financial records: retained for accounting and legal/tax obligations.
• Operational logs: retained for security, debugging, and reliability windows.
• Workspace/coaching content: retained until deletion request or account closure workflow completion.

You can request deletion by contacting behram@careerwise.io. Some records may be retained if legally required.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including access controls and managed cloud security services. No system is completely secure, and you should also protect your account credentials and devices.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information. You may also have rights to restrict or object to certain processing and withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.

If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you are in the EEA, you may contact your local supervisory authority.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Careerwise uses essential cookie and storage functionality to keep users signed in and maintain secure sessions. Blocking essential cookies may break login and core product features.

If we enable optional analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will request consent where required before activating them.
